• Be sure the power to the unit is on

• Check thermostat for proper setting, if your thermostat is digital, replace the batteries

• Check for dirty filters; filters that are dirty can restrict the airflow and cause the furnace to shut off for safety reasons

• Check that the blower door on the furnace is properly seated. Some furnaces have an interlock switch that stops the unit from operating if the door is not seated properly.

• Check for a tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse.

• If you are trying to run your Central Air Conditioning, make sure the outdoor unit is not covered or obstructed.

• Do not leave your Central Air Conditioner off all day then expect it cool your house within an hour. Overheated homes with a hot outdoor temperature can take hours to cool, instead, leave the A/C running but at a higher temperature than what you like.

If your hot water heater starts to leak... first of all, don't panic!
Just follow this simple shut-down procedure to render the water heater inoperative.

1. Turn off the cold water supply to the water heater.
2. Turn off the gas or electric supply to the water heater.
