Our cleaning services can include cleaning and maintenance of a furnace mounted humidifier. Humidifiers should be cleaned on a very regular basis to avoid build up of bacteria, lime scale and to ensure proper output of humidity. If the humidifier is in disrepair or has not been cleaned for many years, the cost to fix the humidifier is not usually economical and it should be replaced.

DIY: Cleaning your Power Drum humidifier:

• Turn the humidistat to "OFF" and shut off the water at the water source.
• Remove the media wheel
• Clean the evaporative pad and wheel with a solution of 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water (change pad as required)
• Clean the water pan and float assembly as often as the media pad.  Remove float arm by pulling out the pivot pin, then slide the pan out
• If the float valve leaks after a period of time, clean or replace the rubber seat
• Shut off water, empty reservoir during the summer season
